Hello! I am Alžběta.
An academic, a writing consultant, a trainer in things related to research, fieldwork, qualitative research methodology and academic writing.
I am also a mother, a nature-lover and a pretty good cook. Currently, I live in a beautiful corner of the Czech Republic, but I am eager to travel both for work and leisure.
After receiving an MA in Political Science and International Relations at the Charles University in Prague, I moved to Bayreuth, Germany, where I received my PhD in Political Science with a regional focus on Africa. My dissertation looks at the process of postwar reconstruction in Liberia and was awarded a Young Scholars’ Prize of the Association for African Studies in Germany.
Apart from the Czech Republic and Germany, I was living and teaching in France, Liberia, Tunisia and was fascinated by the different academic cultures in each of them.
Currently, I am a free-lance researcher, teaching at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, and supporting people worldwide in their research and writing processes.
And if you are wondering, it is a Czech name. You can check the pronunciation here. The second speaker is most accurate, but do not worry about it too much. You can simply ignore all the diacritical marks and pronounce it the way you manage. I will not correct you, promised!
